A little bit of this, a little bit of that

Hi all!
I guess now it is my turn to write an entry in this thing. It is hard to come up with something exciting and interesting to write when most of my days are taken up by school (blah!) But who knows, this blog could be my perfect school procrastination tool J For now, let’s just get yall caught up on what has been going on the past month or so…
The month of February started off like a real winter.. COLD! The freezing 16 degree temperatures we had here for about a week just solidified the fact that I am true South Texas gal and strongly dislike the cold!  With this freezing cold weather brought something San Antonians cannot handle at all: ICE and SNOW. Talk about shutting down an entire city! Roads were closed, crazy people decided to drive on the black ice, many wrecks occurred, and schools were shut down. (I am definitely not complaining about that last one!) But I must say, I did enjoy waking up to a semi-white yard and snow covered cars in the driveway. We were really excited to see Bonnie’s reaction to the snow, but as you can see from the pictures below she was not too thrilled about it.

Matt and I usually don’t do much for Valentine’s Day because my birthday is so close, so this year we planned on just exchanging gifts and going to eat at Pappadeaux because we had a gift card. Matt got me beautiful roses and put them in some old wine bottles I had been saving to find something to do with…it was so pretty! He also got me my favorite: candy and a massage!! Lately Matt has been on a puzzle kick, so his gift was two 1,000 piece puzzles. He finished one in about two days! After presents came dinner…dun, dun, dun.  We should have known the night was going to be long when we had to wait 30 minutes just get to the hostess table to put our names on the list. An hour and a half was the estimated time, but we had been looking forward to this all week so we just decided to suck it up and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. We waited (along with about 50 other parties) for just a little over 2 hours! We got seated about an hour before they were supposed to close.  For some reason the night we decided to celebrate must have been national 15+ party day. There were about ten parties called before us, all of which were over 10 people. And to top it off, they were all called within ten minutes of each other! Now why they decided to this, I’ll never know. But then again I can’t complain too much because we waited longer than all those parties, ordered food, ate and paid before most of them even received their food!  Needless to say, after about being at the restaurant for about 3 hours we left with happy bellies filled with good food and drinks.
Matt and I all dressed up for our date :)

My beautiful roses

That pretty much brings us to this week, which is a busy week. We have birthdays to celebrate, weddings to attend and much, much more. But that will all be a different story for a different day, so check back later. Until then, it’s time to get in birthday mode J

Let's get this out of the way...

So it's no secret that I love dogs, especially the lovely Bonnie. There are going to be many posts that involve her, so I might as well start everything off with some lovely Bonnie pictures. Her grandparents haven't seen her in awhile, so they must be wondering what she has been up to.

Well, she recently helped me put together a puzzle, and by put together I mean lay on it so that I would have to pay attention to her.

And for those of who you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Junior (Bonnie's boyfriend/best friend), here is a picture of the beast.

Yes that is a two foot long drool rope hanging from his mouth.
Alright, I just wanted to get the gratuitous Bonnie post out of the way. I would also like to add that I had to get up to let her in/out 4 times while writing this post. Love ya Bonnie!

Howdy!

Howdy friends and family. Because we are constantly on the go and yall aren't always around to see what's going on with us, we thought we would create a little look into our lives. We are going to be posting stories, pictures, etc so that yall can stay updated on what's going on here in San Antonio. Also, once Kelsi leaves for Corpus in May, it will help us stay more connected to each other's daily activities.

We will try (although I know we won't) to post things every day, whether it be about something significant that happened or just about the little things going on in our lives (hence the name of our blog "It's The Little Things"). It may seem like we think very highly of ourselves to think that you will be interested in reading about us, but lets be honest, you do want to. Especially you mom. You already go through my bank statements to check up on me. Well now you won't have to....as much.

So check back here periodically for updates with us. And if no one is reading, well at least we will be creating something we can look at to remember our adventures, big and small.
